yangshuo and frankenjura update

I saw Jiasheng on MSN and was talking to him. Team Yangshuo humbly and respectfully begged me to help them blog about their accomplishments and so i shall..(i think cos china cannot use blogger WAHAHHA)

Jiasheng says: that he has climbed a 120m multipitch route with an european climber. The rest will do it soon. (alvin: Whoa!)
Liu li says: he has flashed 7A and will kick my ass in krabi (alvin:knnccb!)

They have been riding motorbikes to their climbing areas cos some are more than 10km away..without helmets! (alvin:tsk tsk) Jss also says that routes there are graded harder than krabi..

Back to Me and weimin, we were butt raped in frankenjura. The bolts are damn far apart, made our balls shrivel and drop. Worse is that the first bolt is sometimes super high up, it's like 5m high sometimes?

Then they go by uiaa grade from 1-10; doing a 6C equivalent(UIAA 7), we can take many tries and I even took a 3 bolt length lead fall!! that's really far considering the distance of bolts apart.(felt like screaming as i fell teehee') Cruxes of small pockets and crimps exist for the low grades of 6b even, it's disturbing.

We were out of our league cos many crags near our campsite only offered routes of 7C or harder.. :'( Enough excuses, me and weimin will be kicked by liu li in krabi. wheeee

It was a humbling experience climbing in frankenjura, but still a very fun trip exploring the countryside, long walks and treks, eating sausage, pork shoulder and all sorts of delicious German food. Wine is cheap and beer is cheaper than water at 25c for 0.5litres!!

PS: wilson is still strong despite hardly climbing! Lots of endurance and lots of determination just like b4..

cya soon!
