Our reporters were down to witness the intermediate and open qualifiers for Pumpfest 2006, organized by our friendly neighbours on the rolling hills in the west corner of SG, NTU. It was a pulsating atmosphere with climbers displaying sheer strength and performing death-defying feats. Alvin did a tremedous job in the open cat with Eli demonstrating the lock-off strength of NUS girls in the absence of Shumei; while Weimin showed off his ease with crimps!
Unfortunately the same could not be said for their team-mate, ningfeng, who failed to qualify for the finals even! Ahh.. yes.. such is his inability compared to others in the intermediate mens cat. In our post-com interview with him, we asked him why did he falter during the com, which he summed up as "no enough finger strength, no enough power". From sources, we learn that he is gonna start on an intensive finger-strengthing regime (when internship ends), which might result in him losing one or two of his digits. Yes im tired and feeling cranky.
P.S. open cat climbers are sooo... f-ing strong.
