Dave Graham

He's my idol man! Haha.. Read about him after watching all the petzl videos... Good looks + good skills... What else can one ask for! Haha.

But of course, one needs (more realistic) targets; we have our guru jr. and sr. All hail the (routes) bash brothers!

Ok... sorrie if i sound a little insane.

NATURE vs NURTURE

Born in 1981 in Maine, one of the flattest states in the U.S.A., Dave Graham started to climb in 1997 with a friend from his skiing team. “He climbed already and asked me if I wanted to go to the local wall. For two weeks I went back there every day. I immediately realised that I really liked climbing. Then my friends began to tell me that I was good - after two months I climbed my first 5.12a, five months later I climbed my first 5.13a and after a year I climbed 5.14a, at which point I too began to think that I was quite strong.

extract from Planetmountain

5.12a -> 7a
5.13a -> 7C +
5.14a -> 8b

Hmmm, an extreme example of lots of talent. 2mths and he climbed a 7A!? makes me feel v sad...

secret

i admit i have a secret trg partner..he is a hand held massager which i use to massage my shoulders and arms every night b4 i sleep..i hope he makes me recover fastger!

Climbers Film Review: Sepet

Yesh I bet you are thinking: "Why this guy wanna do a film review on a climbing blog? The movie also released long ago."

Relek lah..as some of the team are going to Malaysia to climb, I thought maybe you all wanna hype yourselves by indulging in the Malaysian culture. If you intend to go there and climb only, then woops! This review is not for you sorleh.

Anyway I am bored and Alvin said before that we can post anything on the blog, so long as it is not flaming anyone (he said that during the second official training for the team, in front of the squah court while he made the comments that only two year ones are currently posting on the blog). Ya i know I got fantastic memory gosh I surprise myself everyday!

Sepet is a film about the romance between a chinese kia and a malay minah. Both have diverse characteristics and the malay girl in the film is pretty. She is polite, carries herself well, smiles nicely, talks intelligently, has a nice way of speaking, fair and nice hair, sits properly, reads a lot, intense, and more other good stuff.

You might find yourselves wondering what to eat in Malaysia too so head down to any fastfood restaurants! Nandos is nice too wuahaha!

Then the romance part is really close to our hearts. I mean, we are inundated by too many western romance stories so this love story may actually happen to us. There are really farnee jokes too in the story but some of the jokes a bit malaysian so you may not catch it.

Overall, it is a light hearted romance with a hearty ending that leaves you gripping to your pillows. Highly recommended for the attached or going to be attached people. Won lotsa awards too but I feel that this video reduces your rage for being unable to redpoint a route and it gives you a feel of what it is like to fall in love again.

Pretty girl and ok looking chinese guy deciding what to order as everything looks the same. Notice the intensity the malay girl is giving while she thinks.

Yes the review ends here. Get ready for the trip!

My after -thoughts of Dairy Farm (Wat's urs?)

I had a great day too.

Planned to wake up at 8.30am, but ended up waking at 10.10. And i was late. Late for wat? GG DAIRY FARM!!! After gettin some equipment, we left for Bukit Timah Food Centre. Here i shall state a sad storey 1st. I kenna my 1st or gong (parking summon). Hope i won't get a harsh tongue lashing from the Dear One. Hope this $30 find its way to help some poor soul in singapore, or help me back by being in my pay!

We reached dairy farm, but still drizzling. Lead for the 1st 2 routes, damn scary, but shiok. For the 1st lead at this wall called direct section, i kept thinkin that at this pt of time, i'm relying on the small imperfection of the otherwise flat surface, as a foothold; and this crack where i jam my fingers in. And at another pt in time, i'm relying on this anchor pt only. And the clip in pts are far fr each other and one of them is so loose. I did the climb so slowly, so much fear in me. I also dunno why, as i get older, the fear each time i do vertical climbing jus increases exponentially. But i did enjoy the climb, esp towards the end, with the wind in my face, with a nice scencery behind. Just the wall and me!

We then proceeded to the inner area, after all had tried at least one on the 1st wall. This wall's called abcd section. We climbed half the full crag; on the left, it looked intimidating; on the right, it was damn mossy. So we left with the centre route (Zero Gully)of 5c+ to 6b. Quite fun with slippery rock surfaces and a loose piece of rock. Quite alot of mosquitoes here, but heng alvin/elisa got bring coil and repellant.

Then we went to our last wall, which require quite some effort of wallking thru vegetation, puddles of water, muddy slopes and spiderwebs. It was already 5pm liao. At america pie section. Alv and me each did one time of Super Crack(crack climbing)-7b! Damn shack. We all then ended off by trying Homage to Gullich-6b+, at the homage section. Quite a technical route of the day. By that time, the sun almost setting liao. Quite a way to end such a heart-pumping day. We then went West Coast Food Centre for some great feast, as usual. Can't wait for the next time we're gg again. **I'm Lovin It!**

So much like climbin in a fog!
